Linux
Using CUPS 1.5.3 and newer
Add Black/White Printer with Duplex:
In your browser: localhost:631
Login with your local username and pw
Tab: Administration → Add Printer → Other Network Printers → Internet Printing Protocol (http)

Type your preffered name and location
Driver: HP → HP LaserJet Series PCL 6 CUPS
Bidirectional printing: Double Sided (Long Standard), Tab: Adjustment: Duplex enabled → set default
Add Color Printer with Duplex
In your browser: localhost:631
Login with your local username and pw
Tab: Administration → Add Printer → Other Network Printers → Internet Printing Protocol (http)

Type your preffered name and location
Driver: HP → HP Color LaserJet Series PCL 6 CUPS
Bidirectional printing: Double Sided (Long Standard), Tab: Adjustment: Duplex enabled → set default
Windows 7/8
To print to the CUPS class via Windows follow these steps:
Go to “Devices and Printers”
Add a Printer
Add a network printer
Select “The printer that I want isn´t listed”
Select a shared printer by name and use

As the driver select “Generic” → “MS Publisher Color Printer”
Currently only simplex-printing is supported
Mac OS
To print via Mac OS follow these steps:

Under Downloads Required get following files:
pxlmono 1.9 for Mac
OS X 10.3.x (Panther) - Mac
OS X 10.8.x (Mountain Lion)
Foomatic-RIP for Mac
OS X 10.3.x (Panther) - Mac
OS X 10.8.x (Mountain Lion)
Ghostscript for Mac
OS X 10.3.x (Panther) - Mac
OS X 10.8.x (Mountain Lion)
Install Foomatic and Ghostscript before pxlmono
Enter the Terminal and execute the command: cupsctl WebInterface=yes
Follow the same steps as in the Linux instruction
Direct access to printers
This should not be used - but if you have troubles using the pool:

There is no direct access to the color printer. You have to use the pool configuration.
Scanning and Copying Documents
Use the big Printer/Scanner on the back left end by the printer pool.
For the UserID and PIN ask at the secretariat.
You can scan either to an usb-key or send you an e-mail.
The menu should be self-explaining.
